SOUTHERN CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The Southern Christian Leadership Conference was formed in 1957 just after the Montgomery Bus Boycott ended. The Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s (SCLC) main goal was to promote civil rights in America in a non-violent manner. Its president was Martin Luther King Jr. The SCLC brought together all the various civil rights organizations and put them under one organization. The members traveled and participated in various protests and rallies.
